What if an exhibition took place on scaffolding and the gallery moved out into the streets for a while? During the Night on the Island of Culture, the House of Art České Budějovice presents a new work by artist and architect Tereza Melková, who uses large-format embroidery to connect visual art, architecture and collective memory. The scaffolding of the building under reconstruction becomes an unusual exhibition surface and shows that contemporary art does not have to stay behind gallery walls. The work is accompanied by a programme for schools, families with children and adults, held in the temporary educational spaces of the House of Art at the swimming stadium. Come and discover art in unexpected contexts and look at a familiar urban setting with slightly different eyes.
